The Department of Health Service Psychology in the School of Health Professions at Mississippi State University invites applications for a twelve-month administrative appointment as Associate or Full Professor & Head of the Department of Health Service Psychology. As a newly established department and school, we are dedicated to shaping the future of health service psychology,education and research. The Department of Health Services Psychology currently houses the Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Combined Health Service Psychology program and the MSU
- Meridian Mental and Behavioral Health Clinic. We seek a dynamic andvisionary leader with a strong academic and research background inhealth service psychology and with academic and/or clinical leadership experience to guide our department towardexcellence.

Area of SpecializationHealth Service Psychology
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Provides vision and leadership for nationally recognizededucation and research programs
- Provides leadership and mentoring to all faculty, staff and students
- Responsible for overall administration of faculty and support staff activities
- Responsible for recruitment of students, faculty and support staff
- Provide oversight of the Mental & Behavioral Clinic,including supervision of clinical staff and the clinicdirector
- Develop and implement strategic plans that advance clinicgrowth, sustainability, community impact, and operational excellence
- Monitor clinic performance metrics, including client access,productivity, utilization, patient satisfaction, outcomes, and operational efficiency
- Develop and maintain community partnerships that increase theclinic’s visibility, referral base, and service impact
- Conducts research leading to scholarly publications
- Works with the Dean of the School of Health Professions and university administration in establishing goals and objectives forthe school, department, and in meeting the university missions of teaching, research and service
- Academic responsibilities include planning, reviewing, and updating the curriculum, academic programs, and course content
- Personnel responsibilities include promotion and tenure,performance evaluation, and workload management
- Fiscal responsibilities include preparing and overseeingdepartmental budget and other budgets for research funding
Doctorate degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or a closely related field from an APA-accredited program;
Licensed orlicense-eligible as a Psychologist with the Mississippi Board of Psychology.
Must qualify for the rank of Associate or Full Professor with tenure, and as such, must have earned national recognition by adistinguished record of accomplishments in teaching, research, and service.
Preferred Qualifications- Demonstrated leadership experience in an academic and clinical setting
- Experience with accreditation processes, specifically APA
- Proven ability to engage with healthcare industry stakeholders to foster partnerships and collaborative projects
Knowledge of Higher Education program development
