* Job Summary:

** The Addressing Technician assigns addresses to all new residential and commercial subdivisions and buildings and maintains and updates the City's enterprise addressing database using Geographic Information Systems (GIS). This database is central to much of the permitting and code enforcement activities in the City The position is responsible for new subdivision street name review, compliance with the City's Street Name and Addressing Ordinance (City Code), and NENA (911 National Emergency Number Association) standards.

Other duties include making corrections to addressing and/or street-naming anomalies that may lead to emergency response delays, tracking project status updates on new subdivisions and their readiness prior to addressing, assisting the Department with mapping and data analysis, conducting plan reviews for Public Works to calculate water and sewer assessments on commercial projects, and responding to daily requests for information from multiple agencies, developers and residents.

* Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

*** Facilitate informational meetings, prepare staff reports, testify at public meetings and hearings, and make formal recommendations to City Council and Planning & Zoning Commission regarding street name and addressing changes;
* Represent the City's interests as part of an inter-agency review committee and data exchange for proposed subdivisions and developments;
* Review new subdivision plats, evaluate existing street alignments, verify accuracy of plat information, and make new street name recommendations to Ada County and developers;
* Actively collaborate with Ada County Assessor’s, Dispatch (911 Call Center) and Meridian Fire and Police Departments in identifying and correcting addressing and street name issues in order to reduce emergency response delays;
* Verify existing address and parcel data for commercial project applications, assign new addresses for residential and commercial projects, maintain updated address information in MEAD (Meridian Enterprise Addressing Database) for data sharing with partner agencies, verify address information consistency between MEAD and the Accela enterprise systems;
* Conduct on-site visits to buildings and development projects to determine location of building entrances for accuracy of GIS address point placement and placement of street signs;
* Provide addressing and assessment information in response to daily requests from government agencies, utilities, contractors, developers, City departments and the general public;
* Perform spatial analytics such as geo-referencing and navigate various tools/features within ESRI ArcGIS (including Arc Pro). Create simple maps to be released to the public. Maintain close correspondence with other building and county GIS staff. Attend county and regional meetings to discuss GIS issues, applications, and data sharing;
* Responsible for application of and adherence to the Meridian City Street Name and Addressing Ordinance, adherence to the Ada Conty address number grid and roadway centerline address ranges, and generally accepted standards;
* Provide project status to developers/builders on new subdivisions, notifying other divisions and departments when project sign-offs need to be completed;
* Conduct assessment plan reviews of all new commercial projects, calculating water and sanitary sewer assessments. Provide assessment estimates for proposed commercial projects, research and track assessment payments on existing projects;
* Responsible for application of and adherence to Meridian City Water and Sewer Ordinance when calculating assessments and requesting direction from PW Management when exceptions occur;
