This position is located in the Office of Compulsory School Attendance Enforcement. Duties consist of implementing and ensuring statewide compliance with the Mississippi Compulsory School Attendance Law, dropout prevention efforts, and regulations or policies adopted by the State Board of Education.

This position will require exercising a high degree of independent judgment in appraising situations and making decisions.

Each school attendance officer shall possess a college degree with a major in a behavioral science or a related field or shall have no less than three (3) years combined actual experience as a school teacher, school administrator, law enforcement officer possessing such degree, and/or social worker. (See MS Code 37-13-89).Hiring agency prefers;

A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a Behavioral Science or a related fieldor(3) years of combined experience as a school teacher, school administrator, law enforcement officer, and/or a licensed Social Worker by the State of Mississippi.
