Opening for a HIM Coder, who participates as an integral member of the records management team by ensuring the quality maintenance of patient information/medical records, within all laws, rules and regulations of federal and state licensing agencies, and JCAHO standards for the quality of patient care. The HIM Coder has the primary responsibility of assigning accurate ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM codes upon patient discharge (Inpatient).
The HIM Coder communicates with physicians for any related coding questions. Must possess the interpersonal skills and effective communications necessary to interact with all levels of department personnel and other departments, able to use standard office equipment and information systems, and the ability to prioritize and shift workloads to ensure departmental goals for revenue cycle goals.
Requirements: RHIT/RHIA Required
