Position OverviewThe Client is seeking an experienced Technical Documentation Contractor to support the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Information Security Governance documentation. This role is ideal for a technical writer with a strong cybersecurity background who can translate complex security requirements into clear, accurate, and enforceable documentation aligned with industry standards and regulatory frameworks. The successful candidate will collaborate with cybersecurity professionals, technical teams, auditors, and business stakeholders to create governance documents that strengthen the organization’s security posture and ensure regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, revise, and maintain Information Security policies.
- Create technical standards that support approved security policies.
- Develop operational procedures and implementation guidance.
- Produce security baseline and configuration documentation.
- Create compliance documentation that is technically accurate, consistent, complete, and enforceable.
- Recommend improvements to the organization’s governance documentation structure and standards.
- Produce documentation for diverse audiences, including:
- Technical teams
- Management
- Auditors
- External reviewers
- Work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to document existing processes, security controls, and governance practices.
- Maintain document version control and support periodic policy reviews.
- Ensure documentation aligns with organizational cybersecurity objectives and industry best practices.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Technical Communication, or a related discipline.
- Required Experience: Proven experience in technical writing within cybersecurity, information security, or IT governance environments.
