Job Purpose

This role provides direct care, including IV therapy, to assigned patients within the framework of the Licensed Practical Nurse Act under the direction of a registered nurse. The position directs and assists ancillary nursing staff, collaborates with the multidisciplinary team, and is responsible for your own practice while supporting other members of the healthcare team in delivering high‑quality personalized patient care.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Current licensed practical nursing (LPN) license in state of practice (required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (required)
  • IV therapy credentials (preferred)
  • Excellent organizational, time‑management, and self‑directed judgment skills
  • Strong interpersonal and delegation skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision
Job Duties
  • Effectively uses the nursing process in the delivery of patient care through data gathering, planning, and evaluation.
  • Provides care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the ages of patients served.
  • Communicates effectively and professionally with all patients, guests, family members, and co‑workers to ensure a quality patient experience.
  • Adapts to rapid change in a positive manner as unit or department needs change throughout the day.
  • Manages personal professional development and maintains required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training, and credentials.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
Physical and Environmental Demands

The role requires occasional exertion of 50 to 100 pounds, frequent exertion of 25 to 50 pounds, and constant exertion of 10 to 20 pounds to move objects. The position may involve exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue, communicable diseases, hazardous medications, and hazardous waste.
