Product Manager (#PKX-14720) – Merriam, Kansas, United States

We have an exciting Product Manager opportunity in our Merriam, KS office. The Product Manager is responsible for maximizing profits and throughput while minimizing costs for specific sales channels. This position will collaborate with sales, FSQA, analytics, scheduling, and operations to help identify an ideal product mix and put a plan together to execute that mix.

• Build, maintain, and manage break‑even models to assist the Pricing Manager with establishing position targets.
• Work with the sales group throughout daily activities to manage sold positions and pricing.
• Participate in weekly market forecast meetings.
• Work with sales in evaluating and establishing frozen positions for selecting product items and develop timing for establishing frozen positions.
• Work with the analytics department to develop and manage Production Realization reporting for select items.
• Travel to the plants to identify opportunities within operations to save resources.
• Review and submit all new code requests for their assigned channels.
• Become the resident expert on their sales channel needs and profitability.

• An understanding and familiarity with protein/commodity markets
• An understanding and familiarity with customers and sales tactics
• An understanding of cost models for animal protein products, pork items being a preference
• Familiarity with pork slaughter and fabrication facilities, processes, equipment, and cuts

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in an animal protein product management, sales, or equivalent role
• Bachelor's degree in business, agriculture, or related field.

• Primarily an office environment with some need to work in the field.
• The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. After‑hours, weekends, and overnight travel as requested.
