Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Carrier Sales Representative to join our transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with motor carriers, negotiating rates, securing transportation capacity, and ensuring the successful movement of freight. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong communication and negotiation skills, and is committed to delivering exceptional service to both carriers and customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers and transportation providers.
  • Source and secure carrier capacity to meet customer shipment requirements.
  • Negotiate freight rates and service agreements while maximizing profitability.
  • Track and manage shipments from pickup through delivery.
  • Communicate proactively with carriers, customers, and internal teams regarding shipment status and exceptions.
  • Resolve service issues, delays, and transportation challenges quickly and professionally.
  • Monitor market trends, lane activity, and carrier performance.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, transportation regulations, and safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in transportation management systems (TMS).
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience in carrier sales, freight brokerage, logistics, or transportation preferred.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and transportation management systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with freight brokerage or third-party logistics (3PL) operations.
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations and industry best practices.
  • Ability to analyze market conditions and pricing trends.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales and performance metrics.
