The Full Charge Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining the complete accounting cycle of the organization, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end closing activities. This position supports the financial operations of a licensed home care services agency and works closely with management to ensure accuracy, regulatory compliance, confidentiality, and timely reporting of all financial information.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES General Accounting- Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts.
- Record and reconcile all financial transactions accurately and timely.
- Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Manage the full accounts payable cycle.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Process checks, ACH payments, and special payment requests.
- Monitor accounts receivable balances and outstanding claims.
- Post payments and reconcile payer accounts.
- Assist with collection efforts and aging reviews.
- Assist with payroll processing and payroll-related accounting functions.
- Reconcile payroll reports, deductions, and garnishments.
- Perform bank reconciliations.
- Monitor cash activity and support cash flow reporting.
- Assist in preparation of monthly financial statements.
- Generate management reports, analyses, and budget variance reports.
- Maintain records supporting Medicaid, Medicare, Managed Care, and private pay operations.
- Support audits, cost reports, and regulatory reviews.
- High School Diploma required;
Associate's Degree preferred. - Minimum five (5) years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Healthcare or home care accounting experience preferred.
- Advanced Excel and accounting software proficiency.
- Primarily sedentary office work.
- Frequent computer and telephone use.
- Occasional lifting of office materials up to 15 pounds.
