Member Specialist

Position Summary

The Clerk – Front of Store provides member service and maintains the checkout area, resolving member issues and concerns. The role promotes Sam's Club products and services, supports members with self‑service technology, processes purchases, and handles payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges according to company policies and procedures. It also follows safety standards, conducts safety sweeps, and maintains a safe shopping environment.

• Provide member service, verify membership cards, and assist members with purchasing decisions.
• Maintain checkout and entrance/exit areas, zone, organize and arrange merchandise, and assist members with transporting items.
• Process member purchases, payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges while adhering to company policies.
• Conduct safety sweeps, report unsafe situations, and execute emergency response procedures.
• Maintain documentation, logs, and other required paperwork.
• Assist with training front‑line associates, teach new technology, deliver new program rollout training, and provide continuous learning opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with security and safety standards, safeguard Sam's Club assets, and monitor for potential criminal activity.

• Retail experience operating front‑end equipment (e.g., cash register).
• Experience working with mobile retail applications.

• Hourly wage range: $18.00 to $26.00 per hour (actual rate will equal or exceed the applicable minimum wage). Additional compensation may include premiums up to $3.00 per hour.
