Position Overview
Amazon Web Services (AWS) serves customers and developers who rely on storage, compute, and other service capabilities. Our customers trust us to handle their data with air‑tight security measures, which we guarantee. AWS is growing rapidly and is looking for a Data Center Security Manager (DSM) to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team to help manage and improve site security operations in our data centers.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe selected individual will manage physical security operations, develop post orders, define security procedures, handle site incidents, work with security equipment, participate in construction projects, and drive day‑to‑day process improvement activities and vendor management. Duties include ensuring consistent deployment of all required security policies and procedures, participating in recurring site audits and reviews, and testing new security technologies.
About the TeamAWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that enable our customers to access the innovation they rely on. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles, collaborating across AWS to maintain the highest safety and security standards while delivering infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost.
BasicQualifications
- Experience acting as a Program Security Officer, Security Specialist, or Security Manager, interpreting and implementing requirements within personnel, industrial, and physical security disciplines and overseeing security operations.
- 3+ years of project management experience.
- 3+ years of process improvement procedure creation experience.
- 3+ years of vendor management experience.
- 3+ years of experience managing contract security and physical security operation programs such as Access Control/Intrusion Detection and CCTV Surveillance systems (e.g., LENEL or C‑cure).
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or 4+ years of security service, loss prevention, asset protection, investigations, or law enforcement experience.
- 3+ years of overseeing security operations and working with security vendors/contractors.
- 4+ years of experience driving campaigns to reduce nuisance alarms.
- 3+ years of experience working with workflow ticketing and extraction of performance metrics.
- 3+ years of experience with excellent verbal and written communication skills in a professional work setting.
- 4+ years of overseeing security sub‑contractors that provide guards, electronic security systems, door construction, door repair, fencing, and access controls.
- 4+ years of experience creating and implementing emergency planning programs and physical security countermeasures.

The base salary range for this position is USD 80,000.00 – annually. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
