DescriptionWho we are looking for:
We are currently looking for a Material Handler to be based out of Hobart, IN. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this person will be responsible for assisting with inventory control of storeroom, material handling, preparing work areas, and supporting maintenance projects.
What you’ll do:
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Safely operate different Powered Industrial Trucks (PITs).
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing materials and products.
- Move materials to and from loading docks, delivery trucks, storage areas, and manufacturing areas.
- Stack skids, crates or parts in designated areas. Clean and dispose of scrap.
- Additional responsibilities as necessary.
What you’ll bring:
- High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent.
- 1 Year of material handling experience in an industrial environment or equivalent training.
- Previous experience driving a side-loader forklift is strongly preferred.
- Previous experience handling long products and bundles of material is strongly preferred.
- Previous forklift experience is required.
Within 3 months, you’ll:
- Safely operate different Powered Industrial Trucks (PITs) including Combi Lifts.
- Be able to inspect all Powered Industrial Trucks (PITs) and report any issues.
- Be able to safely stack bundles of long products.
- Sound understanding and practice of Atkore safety rules.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $23.00. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
