Job Overview
WSP is a leading engineering firm that helps communities improve infrastructure. We are searching for a Senior Paving Construction Inspector to oversee urban and rural pavement rehabilitation and preservation projects valued between $1–$25 million. The role can be based out of Portland, Augusta, or Eliot, ME, or Merrimack, NH.
Key Responsibilities- Interfacing with contractors and attending meetings.
- Mentoring or supervising other inspectors on behalf of the resident engineer or project manager.
- Completing daily reports and measuring/calculating unit price quantities.
- Coordinating independent material sampling and testing.
- Monitoring maintenance of traffic.
- Photographing daily progress and compiling documentation.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources and conduct in accordance with WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies.
- High School Diploma.
- 7 years applicable experience.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, design plans and specifications.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and compliance with WSP’s health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies.
- Candidate must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Associate of Science degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Average proficiency with MS Word.
- NETTCP HMA certifications or ability to attain within 3 months of hiring.
- Hands‑on experience with construction management software such as Site or Field Manager, APPIA, Procore, IPD, or similar systems; knowledge of Bluebeam.
- Any combination of college education, professional licenses, certifications and experience will also be considered.
