Job Summary
This is a senior technical leadership role within Sling Works, one of Elbit America’s most advanced engineering teams focused on next‑generation targeting and mission‑system technologies. As a Senior Staff Electrical Engineer, you will serve as a technical authority for complex electrical architectures and board‑level system design while remaining hands‑on throughout the full hardware lifecycle. You will drive electrical architecture, lead development of advanced PCBAs, integrate processors, sensors, and high‑speed interfaces, and own electrical performance from concept through bring‑up, validation, and transition to production.
You will guide cross‑functional teams, mentor engineers, and help shape long‑term electrical strategy for mission‑critical systems.
- Architect and lead the development of complex electrical and board‑level designs, including schematic capture, part selection, interface definition, and system partitioning
- Provide system‑level leadership across electrical domains, including digital, analog, power, and mixed‑signal subsystems
- Lead integration of processors, sensors, high‑speed digital interfaces, and supporting electronics into cohesive electrical architectures
- Define FPGA electrical integration strategy at the interface and system level (no RTL development required)
- Direct PCB layout activities to ensure signal integrity, EMC/EMI robustness, manufacturability, and compliance
- Lead board bring‑up, electrical debug, validation, and root‑cause analysis in lab environments
- Develop validation methodologies, electrical test plans, and debug frameworks used across programs
- Drive resolution of electrical issues across prototype and production builds
- Lead electrical design for size, weight, and power (SWaP)‑constrained systems, including power distribution, power integrity, efficiency, and thermal considerations
- Partner closely with mechanical, systems, and embedded software teams to ensure seamless system‑level integration
- Serve as a key contributor in architecture reviews, design reviews, and complex trade studies
- Guide DFM/DFT strategy and support transition from prototype to production with manufacturing teams
- Oversee and interpret electrical analysis, modeling, and simulation efforts to de‑risk architectures
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (Master’s preferred)
- 15+ years of experience in electronic design, development, and system integration
- Proven ability to lead complex design efforts and organize large‑scale engineering activities
- Expertise in Schematic Capture tools (such as Mentor Graphics Xpedition) and Electrical analysis/simulation software (such as LTSPICE)
- Proficiency with PLM tools or similar ERP tools
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑reliability environment supporting mission‑critical applications
- Required training: ESD and safety training (can be completed within first year)
- Most locations offer a 9/80 schedule, providing every other Friday off
- Competitive compensation & 401(k) program to plan for your future
- Robust medical, dental, vision, & disability coverage with qualified wellness discounts
- Basic Life Insurance and Additional Life & AD&D Insurances are available
- Flexible Vacation & PTO
- Paid Parental Leave
- Generous Employee Referral Program
- Voluntary Benefits Available:
Longer Term Care, Legal, Identity Theft, Pet Insurance, and more - Voluntary Tricare Supplement available for military retirees
