Fidelity Talent Source is your destination for discovering your next temporary role at Fidelity Investments. We are currently sourcing for a Performance Engineer to work in Fidelity’s Enterprise Infrastructure group in Merrimack, NH or Durham, NC!
The Enterprise Infrastructure (EI) Performance Engineering (PE) team is seeking a highly skilled engineer to work with the latest performance/chaos testing tools and technologies to help ensure Fidelity’s industry leading applications are impactful, stable, resilient and can scale to meet the needs of the business. The successful candidate for this position will become part of a best-in-class engineering team that has a reputation for pushing the boundaries in the performance and chaos engineering fields.
The responsibilities for this position include:
- Designing performance and chaos engineering strategies
- Monitoring and analyzing performance metrics and application logs
- Preparing and optimally communicating test results to Director level management
- Triaging defects with development/architecture partners and project teams
- Partnering with development/architecture teams to identify defect tuning recommendations
- Ensuring timely escalation of critical issues to development and performance engineering teams
- Coordinating activities of off-shore engineers as/when required
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related engineering field
- 5-8+ years of experience in the Information Technology field
- 5+ years of experience in software performance testing against large scale end-to-end platforms
- Experience in software performance testing tools (e.g. Load Runner, Cloud Test, JMeter, etc.)
- Outstanding organizational, analytical, collaboration, and communication skills
- Strong motivation to decompose complex systems and understand how they work
- Advanced application memory consumption analysis skills
- Working knowledge of application server technologies such as Tomcat, Node, or Apache
- Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tool experience is highly desired
- AWS experience is highly desired
- Automation experience is a plus
- Chaos Engineering experience is a plus
