Mechanical Engineer Position
HEPCO Inc. is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer with strong structural and thermal analysis expertise to support advanced electronic hardware development. The selected candidate will perform structural, vibration, shock, fatigue, and thermal analyses of circuit card assemblies (CCAs), chassis structures, and related mechanical systems. This position requires the ability to work independently while supporting design teams, developing analysis models, documenting results, and providing engineering recommendations.
- Perform structural analyses using NASTRAN
- Conduct vibration, shock, static stress, and fatigue analyses
- Perform thermal modeling and thermal performance assessments
- Develop and maintain analysis models for CCAs, chassis structures, and related hardware
- Evaluate design performance and identify potential risks
- Generate technical reports documenting methods, assumptions, results, and recommendations
- Present analysis findings to engineering and design teams
- Support product development through engineering recommendations and design improvements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the design and development process
Required Skills:
- Proficiency with NASTRAN for structural analysis
- Ability to perform vibration, shock, static stress, and fatigue analyses
- Experience performing thermal modeling and thermal assessments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Required Experience:
- Structural analysis of mechanical components or electronic hardware
- Thermal analysis of mechanical components or electronic hardware
- Random vibration analysis
- Shock analysis
- Fatigue analysis
- Static loading analysis
- Independent execution of engineering analysis tasks
- Development of engineering analysis models
- Preparation of technical reports and presentations
- Ideal candidate will have approximately 8–10 years of relevant experience
Education Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field from an ABET-accredited institution
