Are you a rule follower, critical thinker, and trusted partner? As a Senior Compliance Advisor in the Workplace Investing Compliance organization, you will help support the compliance program for managed record-keeper services provided to retirement plans.

We are helping to strengthen the future of Fidelity by supporting retirement initiatives and providing innovative ways for employers to optimally lead employee retirement, benefits and insurance offerings. You will be helping to ensure that the innovative solutions our business partners build for clients adhere to applicable rules, regulations, and policies.

You will handle projects that drive process improvements and/or pivotal initiatives across the compliance program that meet the objectives of the team and deliver value to the business. A role may be offered at the appropriate grade based on experience and level of expertise.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience in retirement plan operations, compliance, project management, risk management, or a related control function.
• Solid understanding of retirement plan compliance requirements and regulatory rules and agencies including ERISA, Department of Labor, Internal Revenue Service, and related guidance, is preferred.
• Experience supporting workplace retirement products or services, including defined contribution, defined benefit, non-qualified, tax-exempt, pooled employer plan, or directed record-keeper services.
• Experience reviewing, updating, or maintaining compliance policies, procedures, process documentation, controls, job aids, or playbooks.
• Program or project management experience, including coordinating work across organizational lines and driving open items to conclusion.
• Flexibility and the ability to influence, contribute to, and learn from teams within the compliance function.
• Curiosity and sound judgment, including a willingness to ask questions, learn the business, and connect regulatory requirements to practical business processes.
• Strong attention to detail, capable of identifying gaps, inconsistencies, emerging risks, and following up on items that require resolution.
• Critical thinking and analytical skills, including a consistent track record to identify, analyze, and help resolve problems independently while escalating matters (i.e., DARN) when appropriate.
• Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, demonstrating capability to build trusted partner relationships across Product, Legal, Risk, Operations, and Compliance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, allowing for clear and effective presentation of ideas, risks, decisions, and sophisticated information across multiple channels.
• Ability to respond to shifting priorities while maintaining progress on regularly scheduled work, risk matters, exception requests, procedure updates, and project commitments.
• Ability to plan and implement work in a timely manner by delivering on objectives, managing partner expectations, and driving projects to conclusion.
• Microsoft Office suite of applications, including SharePoint, are some of the many tools in your toolbox.
• Providing compliance guidance to product teams throughout the product and service lifecycle, including opining on requirements, review and approval of internal and external materials, implementation, roll‑out, and post‑launch governance.
• Helping identify regulatory compliance risks and translating requirements, guidance, and compliance expectations into practical recommendations for business partners.
