Hybrid 2 weeks per month onsite in Merrimack, NH or West Lake, TX
Our client seeks a Cloud Engineer to support production operations for cloud-based archival platforms. The role focuses on system stability, performance, and resilience while advancing observability, real-time performance insights, and automated response to reduce operational risk and improve recovery time.
Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.
Rate: $67.00 to $77.00/hr. w2
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities
- Provide production support for cloud-based archival platforms with a focus on stability, performance, and resilience.
- Enhance observability and real-time visibility into application and infrastructure performance.
- Automate alerting and response mechanisms to reduce operational risk and improve recovery time.
- Support and monitor AWS services and environments.
- Deploy and support Kubernetes workloads and Kafka-based integrations.
- Triage production issues, identify performance improvements, and partner with Engineering teams on remediation.
- Create clear operational documentation and collaborate across multiple teams.
- Troubleshoot under time constraints and maintain high service availability.
- Contribute to CI/CD and Dev Ops workflows for reliable releases.
Experience Requirements
- Hands-on AWS experience with services such as EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, Lambda, and Cloud Formation.
- Strong production support background for Java applications.
- Kubernetes deployments and Kafka experience.
- Terraform for infrastructure as code.
- Proficiency with Linux administration.
- Knowledge of networking, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Containers and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Programming experience with Java, Python, Bash, and Power Shell.
- Experience with CI/CD and Dev Ops tools.
- Monitoring, logging, and observability tooling experience.
- Database and storage concepts and support experience.
- Ability to triage production issues and identify performance optimizations.
- Ability to produce documentation and collaborate across teams.
- Ability to troubleshoot under pressure.
- Good CICS system knowledge (preferred).
- Gen AI knowledge (preferred).
- Motivation to learn basic mainframe navigation (preferred).
