Position: Assistant Store Manager I

Responsibilities
  • Assistant Store Manager: demonstrate business acumen; deliver sales results through employee development and mentorship; uphold Coach s standards and competencies; adapt to all roles within the store environment.
  • Sales: align decisions with organizational objectives and Company priorities; develop sales strategies across categories; communicate goals to the team; monitor and drive store performance; manage productivity and clienteling strategies; support execution of sales tactics; represent the brand as an ambassador in the market to drive loyalty and business; resolve customer issues promptly and build long-term customer relationships; take initiative and maintain ownership and accountability;

    collaborate with Store/District Manager to protect and drive business needs; ensure daily tasks support Coach standards; foster feedback, set goals, delegate, and create enthusiasm for a shared mission; recognize and value performance.
  • Operations: evaluate performance, provide feedback, and develop action plans with the Store Manager; resolve performance issues; adhere to retail policies and POS/Operations; utilize Coach tools to support service and operations; recruit and onboard with Store Manager to maintain top talent; manage daily operations including selling, service, payroll, HR, and loss prevention; forecast, plan, and budget in partnership with the Store Manager (e.g., payroll, staffing, scheduling, merchandising).
  • Additional responsibilities include maintaining store interior/exterior, ensuring aesthetic and safety standards, and leveraging Coach tools to support service and operations.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience:

    1 to 3 years of prior management experience in a luxury retail service environment preferred; knowledge of fashion trends and market competition.
  • Education:

    High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
  • Technical:
    Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); experience with retail systems (labor management, inventory, sales reporting).
  • Physical:
    Ability to work at a fast pace; effective communication; capable of maneuvering on the sales floor, shelves, and stock room; ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds for product shipments/transfers.
  • Schedule:

    Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays during high-traffic periods.

Compensation and Benefits

Base pay range: $18.50 to $31.50 per hour. Tapestry complies with minimum wage laws and applicable pay regulations by city, county, and state. Benefits include health insurance (medical, dental, vision), life and disability insurance, 401(k), paid time off for wellness and vacations, and employee discounts.
