We are seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join an agile team focused on engineering excellence in Capital Markets and Brokerage Technology.
This role emphasizes test-driven development (TDD), continuous integration/delivery, and collaboration across technical and business teams.
The ideal candidate will have a strong development background and a proactive approach to teamwork and delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, document, and execute manual and automated tests for trading applications.
- Collaborate with technical teams to improve processes, protocols, and standards.
- Develop automated tests and software tools aligned with business requirements.
- Apply test-driven design principles to debug and validate automated solutions.
- Deliver maintainable and accurate test automation code.
- Prioritize and execute system testing efforts in collaboration with project teams.
- Use SQL to mine and manipulate data for test scenarios.
- Define and maintain automated regression tests for ongoing and future projects.
- Document and report system testing issues using standard defect tracking tools.
- Identify and escalate defects appropriately.
- Support Agile/Scrum implementation within the team.
- Minimum 5 years of software development experience.
- Proficient in Java, Spring, and RESTful services.
- Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Serenity, and Cucumber.
- Familiarity with Jira and Jira Align.
- Knowledge of brokerage trading (Equities, Short Trading, Options, Fixed Income).
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Experience with TSO/3270 Mainframe – a plus.
- Experience with Web Services, Ready
API, or Rest Assured – a plus. - Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Ability to mentor and support test automation adoption across teams.
