Full Stack Developer
Piper Companies is seeking a Principal Full Stack Engineer to join a leading organization in the financial services industry for a long-term contract role based near Smithfield, RI or Merrimack, NH
. The Principal Full Stack Engineer will serve as a hands-on technical leader, guiding full stack development across Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, and modern front-end frameworks while driving cloud-native and Dev Ops best practices.
- Lead design and development of complex, enterprise-scale applications using Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, Python, REST APIs, and SQL/Postgre
SQL. - Architect and implement scalable, cloud-ready solutions leveraging Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and AWS where appropriate.
- Drive CI/CD best practices using tools such as Jenkins, Git Hub, and automated deployment pipelines to improve reliability and speed to market.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Product, Systems Analysts, QA/SDET, Dev Ops) in an Agile environment to deliver high-quality features.
- Provide technical mentorship, code reviews, and guidance on testing strategies, performance optimization, and secure coding standards.
- 6–10 years of software engineering experience with strong full stack skills in Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, REST APIs, and relational databases (Postgre
SQL/SQL). - Hands-on experience with modern front-end frameworks such as Angular and/or React in production environments.
- Solid exposure to cloud and containerization technologies, such as AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform preferred).
- Proven experience working in Agile teams, using Git Hub for source control and pull requests, and building CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills; prior experience in the financial services industry is preferred but not required.
- Salary: $185,000-$205,000/year (USD)
- Opportunity for long-term engagement with a 17-month contract duration
