Work location: Fully onsite Merritt Island, FL
Duration: 6 months
Terms: W2 contract
Position summary:
- This role is for an experienced Construction Field Superintendent who will oversee and coordinate all on-site construction activities.
- The Field Superintendent is responsible for managing daily operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.
- This role serves as the primary point of contact between field crews, subcontractors, project management, and stakeholders.
- Manage and coordinate all day-to-day field operations and construction activities
- Supervise subcontractors, trade crews, and field personnel to ensure work aligns with project plans and specifications
- Develop, monitor, and maintain project schedules; identify and resolve delays proactively
- Enforce all safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies
- Conduct daily site inspections to monitor quality, progress, and adherence to specifications
- Coordinate material deliveries, equipment logistics, and resource allocation
- Review and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Maintain daily logs, progress reports, and documentation of site activities
- Collaborate with Project Managers on budgets, change orders, and scheduling
- Resolve on-site issues, conflicts, and unforeseen challenges in a timely manner
- Ensure quality control standards are met through inspections and testing
- Communicate regularly with owners, architects, engineers, and inspectors
- Manage punch lists and oversee project closeout activities
- 5+ years of construction supervision experience (commercial, industrial, or relevant sector)
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with scheduling software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam)
- Required:
- OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain)
- Preferred:
- First Aid/CPR certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- Experience with large-scale or complex projects
- Ability to work on active construction sites in various weather conditions.
- Capable of walking, standing, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent site visits requiring mobility across uneven terrain.
- This position is based primarily on active construction sites, with occasional office work. Standard hours may extend based on project demands, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed.
