Job Title:

Construction Permitting Coordinator

Location: Merritt Island, FL
Type: Contract / On-site
Pay Rate: up to $39 - $40 per hour
Schedule: 40 hours/week | 8 hours/day | Monday–Friday

We are seeking an experienced Construction Permitting Coordinator to manage and coordinate the permitting process for construction and facility projects. This role is responsible for obtaining permits, coordinating with regulatory agencies, tracking approvals, and ensuring all permitting requirements are completed on schedule. The ideal candidate has extensive experience working with government agencies, construction documentation, and permitting processes for industrial or manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities Permitting & Regulatory Coordination
  • Coordinate the complete permitting process from application through Certificate of Occupancy (CO).
  • Obtain and organize required documentation from engineers, architects, contractors, and vendors.
  • Prepare, review, and submit permit applications and supporting documentation.
  • Track permit status and maintain communication with regulatory agencies throughout the approval process.
  • Ensure all required approvals are obtained prior to construction activities.
Documentation & Project Coordination
  • Review construction packages and engineering documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Coordinate permit‑related paperwork with consultants, contractors, and internal project teams.
  • Maintain organized records of permits, licenses, site plans, and regulatory documentation.
  • Enter, maintain, and update permitting data and project tracking systems.
  • Prepare permit packages and supporting documentation for construction teams.
Agency & Stakeholder Communication
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the company and regulatory agencies.
  • Coordinate with permitting authorities to resolve issues and expedite approvals.
  • Communicate permit status updates to project stakeholders and construction teams.
  • Verify inspections are completed and ensure permit conditions are satisfied to obtain certificates of occupancy.
Project Support
  • Develop and maintain permitting schedules aligned with project timelines.
  • Work closely with Facilities Engineering and Construction teams to resolve permitting challenges.
  • Support field teams by troubleshooting permitting and compliance issues.
  • Ensure all permitting milestones are achieved to support project completion schedules.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience permitting with Space Florida, NASA, Brevard County, St. Johns River Water Management District, City of Cocoa, and City of Titusville is required.
  • Experience coordinating permits for commercial, industrial, manufacturing, or facility construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction permitting processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent organizational, documentation, and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
  • Willingness and ability to learn to read blueprints and plot plans.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card holder), or otherwise authorized to work in accordance with project requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, or aerospace construction projects.
  • 7+ years of experience in the construction industry, permitting, or technical construction project management.
  • Experience coordinating with multiple government agencies and regulatory authorities.
  • Knowledge of construction documentation, engineering drawings, and site development processes.
  • Experience managing high‑volume permitting workloads while maintaining accuracy and meeting project deadlines.
