Role Description The Construction Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Merritt Island, FL. This position oversees construction projects for government facilities, with particular emphasis on projects involving large HVAC and related building systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and coordinating project activities, managing schedules, budgets, and resources, and supervising on-site teams and subcontractors to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and within scope.

The Construction Manager monitors construction progress, enforces safety standards, reviews drawings and specifications, and works closely with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain project quality. The role also includes preparing reports, tracking project controls, and supporting continuous improvement in construction practices and facility operations.

Qualifications

  • Strong supervisory skills to manage on-site teams, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in budgeting and cost control to plan, track, and manage project financials.
  • Knowledge of construction safety practices and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Hands-on experience in construction, including facility maintenance and MEP-related projects.
  • Experience with project control, including scheduling, documentation, risk management, and progress reporting.
  • Familiarity with government or public-sector construction standards and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Proficiency with project management and construction software tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA safety training, PMP, or construction management certifications) are beneficial.
  • Ability to pass Federal background check for DoD and NASA facilities.
