OverviewThis position directly impacts the history of space exploration and requires meticulous attention to safe and repeatable space flight. You will supervise, coordinate, and manage all permit and plan activity in the division, ensuring compliant projects and contributing to Blue Origin’s vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth.
Responsibilities- Obtain and log documents from Engineers, Architects, Contractors, and Vendors to coordinate the permit application process.
- Confirm and track all required approvals for permits, acting as liaison between the company and each agency throughout the permitting process.
- Prepare and submit application status reports to agencies, partners, stakeholders, and governing boards.
- Review applications and supporting documents from the Facilities Engineering/Construction team for accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate paperwork with outside consultants and contractors as necessary.
- Work closely with agencies to ensure permits are processed in a timely manner.
- Produce and maintain project schedules, coordinating with regulatory agencies from permit approval to final closing stages.
- Enter, maintain, and update permitting data daily.
- Print and prepare template packages for the Facilities Engineering/Construction team.
- Verify inspections are completed and conditions resolved to obtain Certificates of Occupancy.
- Maintain all company files related to site plan applications, product approvals, licenses, and permits.
- Communicate regularly with Facilities Engineering/Construction to troubleshoot and resolve field issues, ensuring closings are met.
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in the construction industry and/or technical construction project management.
- Experience permitting with agencies such as Space Florida, NASA, Brevard County, St. Johns River Water Management District, City of Cocoa, and City of Titusville is preferred.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with consistent attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize work and take initiative in a fast‑paced, high-volume environment.
- Capability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn how to read blueprints and plot plans.
- U.S. citizenship or lawful status (permanent resident, refugee, or asylum).
