This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.
As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for supporting and representing the Electrical Harness Design team at our internal Electrical Harness Manufacturing Shop. This is a hands-on position that will involve you in all aspects of engineering, design, fabrication, installation and test. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

- Answer all design related questions coming from our internal Electrical Harness Manufacturing Shop.
- Lead and coordinate the selection of harness components and hardware, connectors, backshells, cable and wire.
- Understanding and application of EMI/RFI and harness shielding.
- Creation of Non-Conformances (NC) items in our internal system.
- Help with the creation of Non-Conformances (NC) dispositions.
- Create/update redline drawings for the 2D electrical harness drawings.
- Release Redline drawings in Windchill.
- Lead and coordinate any improvement initiatives associated to increase rate, productivity, and efficiency at our internal Electrical Harness Manufacturing Shop.
- Lead, coordinate and identify any initiatives and updates required in the design engineering to facilitate automation during harness manufacturing.
- Lead and coordinate process updates and improvements based on our internal Electrical Harness Manufacturing Shop feedback.
- Provide technical guidance for harness manufacturing.
- Support the assembly and testing of cables and harnesses.
- Report on activity schedule and technical status.
- Identify opportunities for technical improvements.
- B.S. degree or higher in Electrical or an appropriate engineering field.
- 5+ years of experience designing Wire Harnesses for the Aerospace industry.
- 7+ years of experience supporting manufacturing of Wire Harnesses for the Aerospace industry.
- Experience performing harness fabrication and installation.
- Experience with Creo and Windchill and Routed System Designer (RSD).
- Understanding and application of wire derating analysis.
- Knowledgeable with existing applicable harness standards: IPC/WHMA-A-620A, NASA-STD-8739.4
- Strong electrical/mechanical design and integration skills using 3-D CAD software.
- Knowledgeable on 6 sigma principles.
- IPC/WHMA-A-620A Certification.
- M.S. in Industrial Engineering.
- Experience with other high-end CAD routing software such as Unigraphics NX Electrical and Mechanical Routing.
- Experience with launch vehicle or spacecraft electrical/mechanical systems.
- 6 Sigma Green/Black belt certification.
