Job Overview

Part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, this role focuses on verification of FPGA-based solutions for Blue Origin’s Blue Moon landers and related products. You will work within the Sustaining Lunar Development program’s avionics, guidance, and navigation group, developing requirements, performing formal methods verification, UVM-based simulation, and on-target testing for our Human Landing System (HLS) vehicle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform requirements‑based verification of FPGAs using Universal Verification Methodology (UVM).
  • Create comprehensive verification and validation plans covering functional and system‑level verification.
  • Develop IP/subsystem/system‑level test benches and tests to meet coverage goals.
  • Document plans and procedures.
  • Write directed and random test cases.
  • Generate reports to support design certification to a high Design Assurance Level (DAL).
Qualifications
  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a closely related field.
  • 5+ years experience verifying FPGAs or ASICs.
  • In‑depth experience with RTL simulation tools such as Siemens Questa Sim, Model Sim, or equivalent.
  • In‑depth knowledge of System Verilog and UVM.
  • Expertise in developing verification environments and components from scratch.
  • Understanding of coverage types, cover classes, points, and functional coverage assertions.
  • Experience with predictive test benches, constrained‑random verification, and register abstraction layers.
  • Ability to develop detailed test plans, run regressions, collect coverage matrices, and report progress.
  • Strong debugging skills to isolate issues between RTL design and testbench or test cases.
Desired
  • Familiarity with the following is also helpful:
    • AXI protocols, PCIe, Ethernet, SPI, I2C interfaces
    • Debugging FPGA/ASIC hardware and assisting with HW/SW integration
    • Managing regression and continuous integration infrastructure within Git Lab
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or TCL/Shell for automation.
  • Working knowledge of NPR 7150.2, DO‑254, or other safety‑critical software standards.
