We are looking for world class manufacturing engineers to apply standard engineering methods to design, develop, and implement new or revised manufacturing and production processes for the efficient and economical production of aerospace products. The role is part of Blue Origin Operations and involves Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all facilities.
Shift schedule: B (Monday–Thursday 5:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.) and D (Friday–Sunday 5:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.).
Key Responsibilities- Translate engineering intent and drawings into fully functional hardware ready for test, qualification, and flight by crafting manufacturing bills of materials and work instructions.
- Identify tools and equipment required for manufacturing flight hardware.
- Provide shipside/lineside support on the manufacturing floor.
- Generate, manage, and close non‑conformance reports.
- Support introduction of new products by crafting manufacturing plan artifacts, including build plans, duration estimates, index plans, and tool lists.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for safety and efficiency.
- Drive the transition from development to production, proactively troubleshooting and maintaining systems as needed.
The Manufacturing Engineer will advance the efficiency and reliability of aerospace components through cutting‑edge assembly methods, manufacturing and assembling hardware on our launch vehicle New Glenn. The position directly impacts space exploration and requires dedicated commitment and attention to safe and repeatable flight.
Minimum Qualifications- Experience with aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicle structures, automotive manufacturing or similar at Level II Engineer 2+ years, Level III Engineer 5+ years, or Senior Level Engineer 8+ years.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing, including GD&T.
- Proficient written, verbal, and technical communication as well as software skills (CAD, issue tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Hands‑on experience building flight hardware.
- Experience with design, development, or production of launch vehicle, spacecraft, or satellites.
- Proficiency with CAD software (Creo or CATIA V5).
- Customer focused with proven ability to work cooperatively across large geographic teams.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
