Blue Origin is developing reusable space vehicles, aiming to bring millions into space. The New Glenn program is a single‑configuration heavy‑lift launch vehicle designed for human and payload missions. This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, overseeing hardware and autonomous software, leading integrated test, and ensuring safe flight operations.
Responsibilities- Ensure the launch vehicle, ground equipment, and personnel are ready for all mission phases.
- Serve as technical point of contact for design, test, software, operation, and refurbishment artifacts.
- Provide real‑time console support during integrated tests, launch, and recovery.
- Identify and address gaps in the system operational timeline.
- Understand subsystem control software across flight and ground systems.
- Author operations documents defining testing requirements, lifecycle, maintenance, and interface requirements.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy of operating requirements in procedures, scripts, and displays.
- Provide program support to the chief engineer office for engineering change requests, design reviews, readiness reviews, metrics, and risk management.
- Provide operational feedback to subsystem designers and support analysis.
- B.S. degree in engineering or related technical field.
- At least 2 years of experience in aerospace or large‑scale processing systems.
- Experience with system engineering principles.
- Experience in analysis, design, or integrated testing.
- Experience in at least one focused area: fluids, mechanical hardware, thermal, propulsion, avionics or electrical hardware/software, telemetry/communications, structures, ground operations, or flight/ground autonomy.
- System development/integration experience, preferably in aerospace.
- Experience with flight systems.
- Knowledge of current systems/project engineering tools and methodologies.
- Experience in facilities construction and renovation projects.
- Large‑scale mechanical system design or operations experience.
