Blue Origin’s Operations team works across integrated supply chain, test operations, safety, quality, and mission assurance to support manufacturing and supply chain activities. The EHS Specialist at the Florida site implements the Environmental, Health and Safety programs for the facility and manages a wide range of technical safety areas such as explosives, cryogenics, crane and robotics safety, process safety management, and radiation safety.
Responsibilities- Manage hazardous and non‑hazardous waste, including consolidation, labeling, inspection, and shipment coordination.
- Conduct routine environmental and safety inspections, covering stormwater, SPCC, wastewater, fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, and more.
- Participate in monthly safety walks and the safety committee, following up on corrective actions.
- Collect and enter data into EHS software modules.
- Serve as a resource to work groups for EHS questions or issues that arise.
- Assist in incident investigations and follow‑up actions.
- Review and develop Job Hazard Analyses with work groups.
- Perform health and safety audits as required.
- Run reports to convey information logically.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Associate’s Degree in Environmental Health and Safety or a related field (minimum). 3‑5 years of industry experience preferred.
- Must complete RCRA and DOT training within six months of hire for hazardous waste storage, disposal, and transportation.
- Must be willing to obtain forklift and First‑Aid/CPR/AED certifications.
- Must be flexible to work all hours, including weekends and on‑call shifts.
- Knowledge of applicable safety and environmental regulations and local, state, and federal laws.
- Self‑starter, team player, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build relationships across all levels.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Strong self‑management skills to stay on track with weekly and monthly tasks.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must pass a background check required for a Defense Biometric Identification Card.
- Five years in aerospace industry or industrial operations.
- Knowledge of U.S. Space Force safety and environmental regulations.
- Hazine/EMT or emergency response team experience.

All positions require Blue’s Standard Background Check. Certain roles may require Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) background checks or additional qualifications for drivers and maritime operators.
