Responsibilities
Apply standard engineering techniques to design, develop, and maintain instrumentation, power supply architecture, or control systems. Develop and modify PLC or HMI applications, interfaces, or embedded controls. Assist in setup and commissioning of new facilities or upgrade existing ones. Troubleshoot and resolve malfunctions, recommend improvements in efficiency or quality, and document specifications and operating procedures. Lead industrial control system, PLC hardware applications, design, fabrication support, and software development.
Design power and control schematics, assembly drawings, and electrical ground support equipment. Design launch vehicle electrical umbilical & disconnect systems, launch ready/abort control systems, and ground support functions for fluid or mechanical operations. Assist in peer review of design documentation and work directly with technicians to progress fabrication, installation, and commissioning at any site.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
- 1–5 years experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Ground up design & operations of launch vehicle power & control systems
- Launch vehicle electrical umbilical & disconnect systems
- Data recording systems
- Simulator designs for ground & launch vehicle systems
- Control systems for launch vehicle ready/commit signals, including pyro devices
- Industrial control system design using Rockwell or Siemens hardware
- Experience with Auto Cad Electrical.
- Cable design using Mil‑Spec connectors.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum.
- Working knowledge of AFSPCMAN‑91‑710, NEC 70, NEC 70E, NFPA 79, UL508A.
- Familiarity with 38999, 5015, RNJ and other Mil‑Spec connectors.
- Experience with Rockwell or Siemens industrial control systems, IPC
620, SCADA packages, and Creo with Windchill. - Knowledge of USAF certification processes for EGSE systems.
- Experience applying NEC electrical standards and NASA & CCAFS regulations for hazardous systems.
- Ability to obtain a top‑secret clearance.
