Sr. Production & Testing Quality Engineer
Airbus U.S. is looking for an enthusiastic and creative quality engineer to develop solutions for new satellite systems and their integration to space launch vehicles with a primary focus on electrical and thermal testing. We're looking for candidates who can bring exceptional quality engineering skills and strong experience in aerospace programs to the team.
As a Sr. Production & Testing Quality Engineer, you will work with quality inspectors and the operations team at the assembly line to accomplish high-volume satellite production. The Sr. Production Quality Engineer will also work with a cross-functional team (supply chain, engineering, production, and customers) to ensure the satellites are delivered with 100% compliancy. The main mission is to identify and resolve testing and electrical nonconformances, conduct thorough investigations, determine the root cause(s), and implement corrective actions.
You will be an integral member of the FAL Quality Engineering team, providing technical expertise and support for the development, testing, and debugging of satellite electrical subsystems. Your primary focus will be on nonconformance management of the integration, testing, and control of one, or various, subsystems including Electrical Power Systems (EPS), Data Handling Systems (DHS), Attitude and Orbit Control Systems (AOCS), Radio Frequency (RF) Systems, and the Test Environment.
Position Responsibilities:
- Facilitate and lead root cause investigations and definition of containment as well as corrective and preventive actions.
- Validate repair instructions and facilitate execution of repairs.
- Perform quality gate reviews to ensure finished satellites conform to design configuration and specifications.
- Be a liaison for customers on production nonconformances through the MRB process and demonstrate professionalism in resolving customer concerns.
- Demonstrate ability to participate in cross-functional planning, coordination, and task execution situations involving the full spectrum of quality, engineering, and integration activities.
- Perform all the necessary quality engineering activities to build, to maintain and to evolve the Airbus spacecraft products.
- Promote and optimize cost savings by reuse of the heritage platform designs and manufacturing infrastructures in the pursuit of various constellation prospects.
- Provide real-time support during system-level test activities, including anomaly resolution and root cause analysis.
- Analyze test data to validate system performance and readiness.
