This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. It includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.
As an Assembly & Integration Technician, you will provide hands‑on technical support to engineering, production, and manufacturing teams by performing activities such as assembly, integration, testing, modification, and checkout of aerospace systems and hardware. Working from engineering drawings, schematics, and detailed work instructions, you will build, integrate, and troubleshoot prototype and production mechanical systems, structural systems, and avionics systems. You will perform operational tests, fault isolation, and assist in remedying malfunctions, ensuring all systems meet rigorous quality and safety standards.

- Assemble and integrate subcomponents and final assemblies of all major structural, mechanical, and avionics systems according to engineering specifications.
- Configure production work areas with necessary tooling and equipment to ensure efficient workflow and minimize delays during high‑rate manufacturing transitions.
- Operate precision calibrated tools (e.g., torque wrenches, micrometers) to maintain high safety and quality standards.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives for safety, efficiency, and productivity.
- Perform operational tests, troubleshooting, and fault isolation to ensure the integrity and reliability of assembled systems.
- Support the transition from development to production, performing preventative maintenance as needed.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas following 5S principles to promote safety and operational efficiency.
The Technician – Assembly & Integration at Blue Origin plays a pivotal role in assembling, integrating, and verifying aerospace components and systems including primary structure, mechanical assemblies, and avionics for the Lunar Human Landing System Solar Array products. You will collaborate on transforming how our Lunar Solar Arrays are made and integrated, directly impacting the reliability and performance of Lunar Vehicle Systems.
Success requires versatility across domains, keen attention to detail, and dedication to safe, repeatable spaceflight.
- Experience Levels with aerospace manufacturing, integration, or related field:
- 0‑3 years – Level I Technician
- 3+ years – Level II Technician
- 5+ years – Level III Technician
- 8+ years – Senior Level Technician
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately.
- Hands‑on experience with assembly and integration of structural and mechanical systems.
- Basic electrical test skills (use of DMMs, basic knowledge of voltage/current/resistance).
- Avionics fabrication and assembly including soldering, crimping, and wire harnessing.
- Experience with bonding adhesives and sealants (polymeric mix/application).
- Proficiency with precision calibration tools (torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers).
- Capable of lifting 50 lbs and working at heights (work stands, ladders, lifts) and/or in confined spaces.
- Basic proficiency in computer usage, including Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
- Must meet U.S. citizenship or lawful resident status requirements.
- Industry certification, trade school training, and/or degree in a related field.
- Direct experience with wing structure assembly/integration, avionics integration, and aerospace launch vehicle or spacecraft assembly.
