ASRC Federal System Solutions (AFSS) is seeking a Spacecraft Technician Harness Fabrication, Senior in Kennedy Space Center, FL.
Roles And Responsibilities- Performs a range of duties in the mechanical, electromechanical, and Facilities GSE when constructing and assembling spacecraft and associated ground support equipment.
- Reads, interprets, and works from blueprints, schematics, engineering documents, work authorization documents and other written or verbal instructions.
- Constructs, assembles, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, repairs and maintain equipment, components and subcomponents, devices, and systems in accordance with testing, engineering, and installation instructions.
- Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format.
- Performs alignment checks; adjusts, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions. Uses various measuring devices to include, Micrometers, Calipers, and laser measuring devices.
- Carry out corrosion control treatments on metal and other corrosive alloys.
- Complete, update and maintain all required documentation, reports, etc., manually or in digital databases.
- Make recommendations to improve work quality, efficiencies, and productivity.
- Fabricate flight and non-flight wire harness assemblies including power, RF, high speed data, thermal, network, thermocouple, and fiber optic.
- Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, wire lists, and assemble to manufacturing work instructions and specifications.
- Perform layout, terminations, crimping, soldering, connector mate/demate, potting, and staking.
- Conduct continuity and insulation resistance functional tests of harnesses for customer acceptance.
- Troubleshoot and assist Engineering with solution, corrective action, and rework.
- Operate processing and test equipment including Laser Wire , DMM, network and fiber optic tester, and automated test unit.
- Collaborate with Engineering to resolve production order, design, or component issues.
- Train and mentor technicians with less experience and provide guidance.
- Utilize basic computer software (Microsoft Office and manufacturing applications).
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills for providing test results and work status report.
- High school diploma, or equivalent experience/combined education, with additional specialized technical training equivalent to a technical Associate degree and/or demonstrated ability to perform assigned technical/para-engineering tasks and 2-4 years or more of experience.
- Must be a US Citizen.
