Overview
This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a heavy‑lift orbital launch vehicle designed for human spaceflight. The position involves design, manufacturing, and integration activities within a safety‑focused culture.
Responsibilities- Perform design and maintenance of structural product definition, including preparing layouts and drawings, modifying existing designs, and resolving discrepancies.
- Coordinate fabrication, installation, and commissioning of new or modified systems at any Blue Origin site.
- Build models and drawings of designs.
- Provide guidance on schedule and technical requirements to internal customers.
- Apply company and industry techniques to plan, lay‑out, and maintain engineering data (detail, assembly and installation drawings or datasets).
- 5+ years of experience in aerospace development or a similar industry.
- Proficiency in design and integration using Creo Parametric.
- Proficiency in drawing generation, checking, and release processes.
- Experience with Windchill.
- Proficiency in standard fits, tolerance stacks, and GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5).
- Experience selecting standard aerospace hardware (fasteners, bushings, washers).
- Experience working in a cross‑functional team responsible for selecting materials, manufacturing processes, and developing design to produce world‑class engineered products.
- Excellent attention to detail and task ownership, with willingness to perform low‑level tasks when needed.
- Experience managing large CAD assemblies and associated drawings.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- 8+ years of experience in aerospace development (launch vehicle or aircraft).
Base pay range for Washington applicants is $39.34–$55.07 per hour.
