Position Overview
As part of a hardworking team of analysts, you will conduct thermal and fluid analysis to define the performance and operations for various spaceflight systems, define hardware requirements, and resolve technical challenges. You will take ownership of or support analysis tasks for a complex fluid system by conducting 1D-3D thermal and fluids analyses and contribute to our product life‑cycle process from early conceptual design through completion of the flight mission.
Responsibilities- Perform thermal and fluid analyses for spaceflight systems, including derivation of component requirements, system test requirements, and system sizing.
- Conduct analysis of flight or ground processes, document and maintain analysis inputs and models, and present results to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (systems engineering, design, procurement) to develop and verify requirements, support sizing and trade studies, and select vendors.
- BS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- More than 4 years of direct experience on space‑application fluids & propulsion analysis.
- Strong MATLAB programming skills.
- Strong understanding of thermal and fluid mechanics of cryogenics, hypergolics, and compressibles, preferably in the space industry.
- Experience with Thermal Desktop, SINDA, FLUINT.
- Experience running technical propulsion system trade studies.
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
- Experience with modeling propulsion/cryogenic fluids management (storage, transfer, phase change).
- Experience with CFD (Flow3D, CFD++, ANSYS Fluent).
- Knowledge of MATLAB, Simulink, Amesim.
- Proven experience in design and analysis of aerospace thermal systems.
- Advanced graduate degrees (Masters or PhD).
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages (MATLAB, Python, C/C++, FORTRAN).
- Active or passive thermal/pressure control system/component design experience.
