Job Summary:
Job duties will include providing drafting support to engineers and designers throughout the engineering design process. Work will primarily focus on Autodesk Revit (BIM) model and AutoCAD drawing development of construction drawing packages based on various datasets and engineer input, completing engineer markups during the design process, preparing design concepts, completing as-built drawings and the creation or modification of details. Responsibilities may also include performing in-field walk-downs of equipment/facilities, verifying existing conditions of sites and facilities prior to new design efforts, and compiling data.
Work will be conducted mostly in the Space Coast Area of Florida (Brevard County). Travel to other locations for projects may be required but will be limited.
Responsibilities:
This position combines advanced engineering technology expertise with leadership in design integration, quality assurance, and client engagement. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in Revit and AutoCAD, with demonstrated experience producing and coordinating complex design and construction documents, integrating non-Autodesk native files into BIM workflows, and multidisciplinary project delivery. Success in this role requires strong technical expertise, leadership, and the ability to guide project teams through complex design challenges while maintaining project schedules and budgets.
Work assignments are highly varied and require flexibility, initiative, and versatility across the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) design and drafting disciplines. Experience with additional building systems, including communications, fire alarm, and fire protection, is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide MEP drafting and design support for new construction, renovation, and facility modification projects at Levels of Development (LOD) 200, 300, and 350.
- Develop and coordinate site and facility MEP design and construction documents within the BIM model environment, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems, with layouts, equipment plans, piping/ductwork, riser diagrams, schedules, details, and interdisciplinary coordination.
- Initiate BIM model setup using company-provided Revit templates, including creating views and sheets, copying/monitoring grids and levels, and ensuring accurate model alignment, coordination, and documentation with architectural and structural backgrounds.
- Apply customer-supplied drafting standards, parameters, project-specific requirements, documentation guidelines, and BIM Execution Plan (BxP) requirements to maintain consistency, compliance, and BIM deliverables.
- Import, convert, optimize, and coordinate non-Autodesk 3D files within Revit, including manipulation of imported geometry to support BIM workflows, design coordination, and construction documentation.
- Support BIM coordination and clash detection by identifying, documenting, and resolving conflicts between MEP systems and architectural, structural, and other building disciplines using Revit and/or Navisworks.
- Develop, update, and maintain MEP details, equipment schedules, panel schedules, riser diagrams, one-line diagrams, and other system documentation under the direction of project engineers.
- Produce accurate record drawings using contractor redlines, Requests for Information (RFIs), as-built documentation, field verification, and engineer input.
- Lead and perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) reviews of BIM…
