ASRC Federal System Solutions (AFSS) is hiring
Mechanical Spacecraft Technicians at the Associate, Mid-Level, and Senior levels to supportNASA's Orion Program at Kennedy Space Center, Florida.
Whether you're an experienced aerospace professional or an early-career technician looking to launch your career, you'll play a critical role in assembling, integrating, testing, and maintaining the spacecraft that will carry astronauts to the Moon and beyond.
What You'll Do
- Assemble, integrate, and test spacecraft mechanical systems and hardware.
- Perform mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly tasks supporting production, development, and prototype hardware.
- Fabricate, install, and maintain mechanical components and assemblies.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Use standard mechanical assembly tools, precision measuring devices, and fabrication equipment.
- Perform troubleshooting, modifications, rework, repairs, and quality testing.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure mission success.
- Maintain accurate production documentation while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with specialized technical training, technical associate degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience requirements vary by level:
- Associate : 0–2 years
- Mid-Level: 3–5 years
- Senior: 5+ years
- Experience in aerospace, aviation, manufacturing, mechanical assembly, fabrication, maintenance, or a related technical field.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Experience with fabrication, assembly, or installation of mechanical systems is a plus.
- Airframe & Powerplant (A P) License is a plus.
- Must be able to successfully complete a government background investigation and pre-employment drug screening.
