We are looking for world‑class manufacturing planners to apply standard engineering methods to design, develop, and implement new or revised manufacturing and production processes for the efficient and economical production of aerospace products. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of transforming the way rockets are made and operated.
Key Responsibilities- Translate engineering intent and drawings into fully functional hardware ready for test, qualification, and flight by crafting manufacturing bill of materials and work instructions.
- Support Mfg Engineers in the use of system tools to execute work orders, including disposition of nonconformances, redlining work orders, revising BOM, BOM reconciliation, and GSE/tooling maintenance and procurement.
- Provide shipside/lineside support on the manufacturing floor.
- Provide oversight and guidance for the creation and revision of manufacturing plans to ensure the required information and structure are provided for MRP systems.
- Maintain and communicate manufacturing engineering metrics and schedules.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements to reduce build time and improve safety and quality.
- Experience with aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicle structures, automotive manufacturing or similar (0–3 years Level I, 3+ Level II, 5+ Level III, 8+ Sr Level).
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Working knowledge of Manufacturing Engineering processes and procedures, including planning systems.
- Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing, including knowledge of GD&T.
- Strong written, personal, technical, and software skills (CAD, Issue Tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc).
- Hands‑on experience with building flight hardware.
- Associate degree or trade school in a related discipline.
- Six Sigma Black Belt and Lean Manufacturing Certification.
- Experience with design, development or production of launch vehicle, spacecraft, or satellites.
- Proficient with CAD software (Creo or CATIA V5).
- Customer focused with a proven track record to work cooperatively with teams of different skills across large geographic distances.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
