This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As part of a vibrant and hardworking team of engineers and specialists, you will be responsible for developing and supporting the New Glenn rocket assembly processes. New Glenn is a single configuration heavy-lift launch vehicle capable of carrying people and payloads routinely to Earth orbit and beyond. Featuring a reusable first stage built for 25 missions, New Glenn will build a road to space.

You will directly support New Glenn's as well as Blue Origin's success through leading the development and creation of manufacturing bill of materials (mBOM), change notice submittal, work order & instructions authoring, design for manufacturability, engineering change implementation, non-conformance processing, BOM reconciliation, and work order execution, and process specifications. You will also be responsible for providing oversight for the creation and maintenance of manufacturing plans and authoring and executing work orders for outplant processing.

In addition you will maintain and communicate manufacturing engineering metrics and schedules. Including creating, interpreting, and modifying work instructions and routings to convey procedures to technicians and trigger material planning. Throughout the manufacturing process, you will also identify, develop, and deploy methods to improve quality, reduce cost, and optimize build sequence and schedules.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the manufacturing of complex avionics devices and harnesses.
  • Interpret and translating engineering documents intent and schematics or drawings into fully functional hardware ready for test, qualification, and flight by crafting avionics manufacturing bill of materials and work instructions.
  • Maintain cognizance of ~4000 distinct parts throughout various stages of manufacturing.
  • Maintain documentation pedigree to support human rated flight avionics.
  • Develop internal specifications required to support the manufacture of device and harness assemblies.
  • Take ownership of a complex production schedule that will support multiple programs needs simultaneously. Supporting introduction of new products by crafting manufacturing plan artifacts including build plans, duration estimates, index plans, and tool lists
  • Leads at the cell level the development, implementation, and maintenance of various manufacturing plans, Bill of Materials, work instructions, and illustrations to define and document as-built configuration of major production hardware
