Overview
This full-time position, which reports to Cathy Stewart, Asst. Vice President, and works independently with minimal supervision with functions as follows:
Primary Responsibilities- Process loan files.
- Verify accuracy of documents received and prepare package for submission.
- Prepare RESPA (i.e., compliance documents) packages within appropriate time frames.
- Update the loan accounting system with collateral information and documentation exceptions.
- Monitor Exception Reports to follow-up on items that are coming up for renewal (such as insurance, UCC continuations, financial statements and other items).
- Order appraisal, title and flood certificate as requested.
- Compare the details of the Loan Approval Document with corresponding loan and collateral request forms and commercial loan information system (AFS) data in order to identify inconsistencies in the presentation and prevent potential booking problems and inaccurate or unenforceable documentation.
- Prepare all loan and collateral documentation for new and renewal loans. Some of which may have a complex loan structure or collateral requirements, ensuring that all prepared loan documents are in compliance with the loan approval document.
- Review all entity documentation to verify exact legal name, entity structure, and signatory requirements.
- Input all required entity data, loan products, and collateral details. Input all covenants, representations and warranties accurately in the system to result in a work product that is error-free.
- Perform a detailed analysis of UCC lien searches and real estate title work to ensure the priority of bank liens as required in the loan approval document and in compliance with loan policies and procedures.
- Require termination, discharge, or subordination of liens that would compromise the bank’s position.
- Provide optimum support to the manager.
- Prepare a variety of special and recurring reports containing highly confidential information following manager’s general directions.
- Type letters and reports from rough draft, making changes in grammar, punctuation, or spelling as needed.
- Organize and maintain confidential file system and file correspondence and other records.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred; five years of loan processing experience, commercial loan experience preferred.
- Core Competencies: Exceptional attention to detail, strong work ethic, and commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality standards.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient computer skills, strong mathematical aptitude, and efficiency with standard office equipment.
- Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of financial institution operating policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
