Overview

We offer a full‑service salon in every store featuring hair, skin, brow, and makeup services.

The Stylist engages with guests, consults on hair care needs, recommends products and services, delivers quality professional services with an emphasis on the guest’s total look, and supports the Experience Manager and Assistant Services Manager in performance, people, and process.

The Stylist champions Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values and performs essential functions:

• Perform hair services including design, cuts, color, texture, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing where applicable.
• Meet or exceed sales goal of $800 average weekly sales and productivity goals while contributing to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink objectives.
• Demonstrate business acumen and identify opportunities for growth.
• Perform product demonstrations to drive sales and enhance guest experience.
• Support in‑store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
• Stay informed on industry trends, products, and services and be knowledgeable about ingredients and benefits.
• Maintain prompt, regular attendance.

• Develop guest relationships through consultations and appropriate recommendations.
• Demonstrate high standards of customer service and salon image.
• Serve all guests, including walk‑in guests, in a timely and efficient manner.
• Partner with skin therapists and retail team to provide a total‑store experience.
• Establish professional peer and brand partner relationships.
• Share benefits of the guest loyalty program and Ulta Beauty app.
• Attend mandatory trainings and meetings.

• Know and ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures and state guidelines.
• Follow established service protocols for a consistent guest experience.
• Use booking systems to schedule return services and events.
• Communicate supply needs to the EM.
• Maintain cleanliness of salon, sales floor, restrooms, backroom, and break areas.
• Adhere to the Ulta Beauty dress code.
• Protect company assets via loss prevention best practices.
• Execute other operational tasks as directed.

• Cosmetology license.

• Previous relevant salon experience is preferred.

• Proficiency with latest salon techniques and equipment.
• Proficiency in recommending and selling pro hair care and makeup products.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.

• Work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Frequent mobility during shift.
• Continuous lifting or moving up to 10 lbs.
• Frequent stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching, twisting, and crouching.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects.
