ResponsibilitiesAs part of a hardworking team of professionals, specialists, and engineers, you will develop strategic procurement solutions and complete day‑to‑day tactical purchasing functions for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of supply chain operations, driving organizational and policy change to enhance Blue Origin’s bottom line.
Our Supply Chain Manager – Machine Parts Procurement will ensure program requirements are appropriately prioritized and executed to meet the needs of Blue Origin. The Manager is responsible for category plan development, supply base evaluation, business‑case development, and risk/opportunity identification and handling. They will develop, mentor, coach, and engage the Blue Origin Supply Chain buyers and subcontract administrators, fostering proper engagement with the program functional teams and facilitating communication of requirements and status to program and business‑area stakeholders.
This leader is competent in Blue Origin Supply Chain compliance standards, strategies, and initiatives, especially regarding machine parts, requirements, and program integration. They have strong leadership skills, excellent oral and written communication, and experience preparing and issuing Requests for Proposal, performing cost analysis in support of proposals, and developing negotiation strategies to lead formal negotiations.
The leader will manage the team that places subcontracts or purchase orders of varying complexity in accordance with all regulatory and corporate compliance requirements. They will form strategies for major contracting activities to meet program requirements and business needs, include continuous‑improvement initiatives, and identify opportunities for enhanced efficiencies. They will support the procurement organization’s strategic direction and ensure corporate strategic objectives are achieved, including the delivery of production materials on time, within budget, and meeting technical performance requirements.

Qualifications- Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience, Master's degree with 3 years of experience in Business Administration/Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related industry experience.
- Experience with subcontracting of machine parts research and development, spec requirements, build to print and COTS commodities.
- Significant understanding of US Government and non-US Government / Commercial acquisitions.
- Experienced knowledge / compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
- Experienced knowledge / compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFARS).
- Experience with most Contract Types (Firm‑Fixed Price, Time & Material, Cost Plus).
- Experience in assessing proposal compliance (FAR 15.4).
- Experienced supporting DCMA Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR) events.
- Maintain compliant and accurate files and data records.
- Strong analytical skills, data driven with experience in establishing and tracking program metrics.
- Interprets and applies company, policies, procedures, work instructions, business standards and U.S. government regulations, i.e., FAR, DFAR, SOX Compliance.
- Create and maintain systems and processes to streamline operations.
- Ensure timely and effective completion of projects and initiatives of the supply chain department.
- Must have top‑notch people and communication skills.
- Working understanding of AS9100 standards.
- Knowledge of Engineering Data such as specifications, IP and data rights.
- Basic understanding of budgeting/expense management with a basic understanding of financial information.
