Job DescriptionAs part of a hardworking team of professionals, specialists, and engineers, you will develop strategic procurement solutions and complete day‑to‑day tactical purchasing functions for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of supply chain operations, driving organizational and policy change to enhance Blue Origin’s bottom line.
The Propellant Team SCA III will ensure program propellant and cryogenic/pneumatic system requirements are appropriately prioritized and executed, meet the needs of Blue Origin, and comply with company standards. They will prepare and issue Requests for Proposal/Quote, perform cost analysis, construct contracting types, negotiate agreements, and manage the procurement process from requisition creation to final invoice payment. They will also lead strategic agreements (LTAs, VMI) and support the organization’s strategic direction to deliver cryogenic and launch systems on time, within budget, and with the required technical performance.
Key candidate attributes include influencing, facilitation, organization, presentation, communication, process development, analysis, and problem solving. Technical expertise of propellant commodities, pressure vessels, cryogenic systems components, leadership skills, and a commitment to quality are required.

- 1st Shift
- Interviews will include a technical assessment
- Processing & managing RFQ, RFI, and RFPs
- Lead formal negotiations of all types (pricing, terms & conditions, scope of work, schedule, etc.)
- Construct various contracting types for major procurement activities and identify efficiencies
- Take ownership of the procurement process from requisition creation through final payment of invoices, resolving issues as needed
- Support the overall procurement organization’s strategic direction and ensure corporate objectives are achieved to deliver materials that are on time, within budget, and meet technical performance requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience (Business Administration/Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related specialty)
- Minimum 20% travel required
- Experience interpreting and applying company policies, FAR, DFAR, SOX Compliance
- Knowledge of propellant market or similar commodity spot, micro and bulk buys
- Negotiated purchase of large and small scale pressure vessels, cryogenic tanks, skids, tube banks, and leasing options
- Knowledge of Riders, Leases, Rental Agreements, LTSA, MSA, PSA
- Maintain compliant and accurate files and data records
- Background in purchasing and negotiating bulk and micro‑bulk propellants and packaged gases
- Strong supplier management and KPI maintenance
- Strong analytical skills, data‑driven, experience establishing and tracking program metrics
- Create and maintain systems and processes to streamline operations and monitor delivery schedules
- Excellent people and communication skills
- Eager to identify opportunities, execute plans, and evaluate results critically and expediently
- Highly analytical and critical thinker, maintains passion for solving problems end‑to‑end
- Proven ability to meet tight deadlines, multi‑task, and prioritize workload
- Track record of working in an ambiguous environment and defining scalable processes

- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) Certification
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Current active DOD Secret Security Clearance and/or Special Access
- Experience with Costpoint, Coupa, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Tableau, Databricks
