This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance.This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.
We are seeking skilled Fluids Technicians in pursuit of safe and efficient human spaceflight. As a Fluids Technician, you will leverage technical expertise and leadership to configure production environments, operate specialized equipment, and drive continuous improvement for both integration and fluids systems.
This is a pooling requisition for current and anticipated openings across multiple Lunar teams and shifts. Candidates will be matched to the right roles as needs are identified.
Position Specific Details:
Shifts: A | Mon-Fri (6am-2:30pm)
Location:Space Coast, FL
Relocation:Available
Potential travel:Up to 10% for training and related activities (where applicable)
Key Responsibilities:
Configure new production work areas with the necessary tooling and equipment to ensure efficient workflow and minimize any potential delays during the transition to high-rate manufacturing.
Operate material handling equipment (forklifts, cranes, etc.) and precision calibrated tools (torque wrenches, micrometers, etc.) to maintain high safety and quality standards.
Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for safety and efficiency, enhancing overall productivity.
Drive the transition from development to production, proactively performing troubleshooting and maintenance as needed.
Maintain clean and organized work areas following 5S principles to promote safety and operational efficiency.
Prepare and test payload systems and hardware by applying materials, conducting painting, sealing, composite layup, repairs, testing, and assisting with vehicle assembly and installation.
Team Focus & Domain Expertise:
Fluid Systems | Specializing in the fabrication, installation, and testing of pneumatic, propellant, and pressurized systems, including tube bending/fabrication, fittings, instrumentation, and system safety. Applies diagnostic tools to ensure proper function and integration with vehicle systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
Relevant Manufacturing & Fluids Technician experience: (0-3 years Level I Technician, 3+ years Level II Technician, 5+ years Level III Technician, 8+ years Level IV Technician)
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications, including P&IDs and fabrication drawings.
Hands-on experience with precision calibration tools (torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser tracker, optical instruments).
Ability to lift 50 lbs, work at heights (stands, ladders, lifts), and in confined spaces.
Familiarity with adhesives, sealants, thermal blankets, composite layups, and large aerospace components.
Computer proficiency (Windows, Microsoft Office).
Ability to work required shift and site, with flexibility for extended shifts/overtime as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with:
Pneumatic, propellant loading/off-loading systems
Instrumentation, sensors, electronics
Tube fabrication (bend, flare, fittings), pressurized system safety
Standard mechanical tools and fabrication shop equipment
Precision assembly processes and handling large aerospace components
Strong technical leadership and attention to detail
ATF certification for handling/installing explosives
Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification
Effective cross-functional communication and teamwork
Continuous improvement mindset and curiosity for process optimization
