This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance and includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As part of a collaborative and hardworking team of Nondestructive Testing specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will perform development and production activities involving NDT methods for various spaceflight systems, primarily the radiographic inspection of flight‑critical metallic or composite flight hardware and test samples. The position requires dedicated commitment and detailed attention toward safe and repeatable spaceflight. We are looking for someone to apply technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight.

Shift

A‑shift:
Monday–Thursday 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain techniques to properly examine hardware, ensuring adherence to all safety and specification requirements
  • Perform inspections using Eddy Current equipment
  • Interpret inspection results and apply acceptance criteria identified on drawings or shop work orders
  • Document and organize inspection results
  • Interface with Engineers and Managers to describe inspection results
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of Level 2 experience in the Eddy Current Method
  • Must be able to pass the Eddy Current General Test and Specific Test by week 3
  • Must meet the minimum training requirements per NAS‑410 in Eddy Current
  • Qualify to certify to level II status per NAS‑410 requirements in Eddy Current with a minimum of 800 documented hours
  • Meet minimum vision requirements:
    Near Vision 20/25 at 16" or Jaeger No. 1 at not less than 12", Color Perception 14‑plate Ishihara with at least 12 panels correctly identified
  • Familiar with ASTM E426 Standard Practice for Eddy Current and SAE‑ARP
    4402 for open‑fastener hole inspection
  • Determine optimal parameters per defined techniques and system calibrations for inspection activity
  • Read and understand blueprints and schematic diagrams
  • Experience with MS Office products required
  • Willing to work overtime, weekends, and off‑shifts as needed
  • Lift and transport parts and/or inspection equipment within OSHA requirements
  • Experience in both lab and field inspection environments
  • Earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships
  • U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee or asylum seeker
Desired
  • Eddy Current Array training and experience
  • Familiar with ASTM E2884 and NASA PRC‑6509
  • Strong desire for Fluorescent Penetrant and Radiography experience and certification
  • Meet minimum training per NAS‑410 in other methods (Ultrasonics, Radiography, Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particle)
  • Certify in one or more methods:
    Ultrasonics, Radiography, Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Infrared, or emergent methods such as Terahertz and/or Laser Shearography per NAS‑410
  • Training in Computed and/or Digital Radiography
  • 40 hours of Radiation Safety Training
  • Experience with NDT inspection equipment and radiation safety equipment
  • Carded by a state or certifying entity (ASNT, IRRSP) as a radiographer for X‑ray
  • Advanced Phased Array training
  • Knowledge of industry NDT standards
  • Experience in a production environment, preferably aerospace
  • Experience with automated/robotic inspection equipment
  • 1+ years of aerospace experience
