Parking and Lot Attendant
The Parking and Lot Attendant is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations at designated areas. The core purpose of the role is to ensure a safe, secure, and orderly flow of traffic by efficiently and safely directing drivers to available parking spaces, utilizing clear hand signals and verbal communication to manage traffic flow. In addition to directing vehicle flow, this individual will also be responsible for validating correct credentials are used when employees access the bus to their destination.
Job Duties and
Essential Responsibilities:
- Verify credentials for access onto buses.
- Direct bus traffic safely into, out of, and within parking area
- Provide clear directions and helpful information as required.
- Coordinate with bus drivers, security and supporting personnel to ensure area stays organized and secure.
- Report safety hazards or suspicious activities to management or security teams.
- Utilize hand signals, batons, and flashlights to guide drivers during peak hours or low-light conditions
Required Education/Certifications/
Experience:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License.
Required
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong situational awareness and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of standard hand signals and procedures for directing vehicle and pedestrian traffic safely and efficiently.
- Ability to pass a standard criminal background check and driving record review.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
This position involves the ability to stand and walk for extended periods of up to 12 hours. Capability to work outdoors in various Florida weather conditions, including heat and rain. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds (e.g., traffic cones). Employees must maintain consistent mental alertness to monitor movement, adjust traffic flow, and remain aware of changing activity levels.
Work may include early‑morning, late‑night shifts, or split shifts.
