Questech Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician to join a well-established commercial vehicle business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and wants to be part of a professional, supportive team.
The Role
As an HGV Technician, you'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing commercial vehicles, ensuring they remain safe, compliant and ready for operation.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and refuse collection vehicles.
* Diagnose faults on both chassis and mounted equipment.
* Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections and ensure work meets DVSA/VOSA standards.
* Complete body and chassis repairs to manufacturer and Department for Transport specifications.
* Accurately complete job cards and maintain service records using company systems.
* Attend customer sites when required, providing a professional and reliable service.
* Work efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
* Follow all health & safety procedures and carry out risk assessments where necessary.
* Take part in ongoing manufacturer and technical training.
What We're Looking For
* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
* Previous experience working on HGVs or commercial vehicles.
* Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.
* Good knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems and vehicle diagnostics.
* Able to read and interpret wiring diagrams.
* Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
* Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
* Flexible approach to working hours, including overtime when required.
Desirable (Not Essential)
* Experience working on electric vehicles.
* IRTEC accreditation.
* HGV Class 2 licence.
