Staff Accountant

About This Team and Role

Verra Mobility is hiring a Staff Accountant. This position will report to the Assistant Controller and is responsible for preparing journal entries, account reconciliations and assist with the month‑end close process in Corporate Accounting.

• Assist with the month‑end and quarter‑end close process
• Prepare journal entries and perform account reconciliations and analyses timely and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
• Perform work under the supervision of the Senior Accountants and work with the team to ensure key accounting control activities are completed timely and in accordance with Sarbanes‑Oxley standards
• Demonstrate attention to detail and effective multi‑tasking
• Complete vendor setups in the system and participate in special projects/ ad hoc requests as needed
• Provide support to internal and external auditors in connection with the year‑end audit and quarterly reviews

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting strongly preferred
• Minimum of 2 years accounting experience
• Experience performing month‑end close duties
• Familiarity with MS Excel and use of formulas
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with people cross‑functionally
