Tax Manager, Tax Advisor, Tax Accountant, Accounting & Finance
We're growing fast, and we're looking for a Tax Manager who's ready to jump in and help lead the charge! This is a review-level, managerial role for someone who already leads tax work — not an entry point into tax. If you love the puzzle of a tricky return, get a kick out of mentoring the next generation of preparers, and want real ownership over how client relationships are built and kept — this is your role.
AboutKRSP
K&R Strategic Partners (KRSP) is a tax, accounting, and advisory firm based in Mesa, AZ. Client relationships are at the center of everything we do — we're proud of the reputation we've built for treating clients like people, not files, and for sticking with them well beyond the day their return is filed. We provide tax preparation, bookkeeping, tax planning, and financial advisory services to a diverse, multi-client base — from individuals to businesses across multiple entity types.
Our team includes preparers, managers, and administrative staff who work together season‑round, not just during tax season, and we genuinely like coming to work.
- Positive mindset – we bring energy and optimism, even during the crunch
- Team collaboration – we win together and pick each other up when it's busy
- Resourceful learner – tax law changes constantly, and we treat that as a chance to grow
- Customer focus – every client relationship matters, not just the return in front of us
Twelve months in, you'll have built a review process our preparers trust, be the go-to person for our trickiest tax questions, and have a hand in the planning conversations that keep our clients ahead of their tax bills rather than surprised by them. You'll know you've nailed it when the team starts coming to you first — before the deadline, not during the panic.
WhatYou'll Do
- Review and oversee preparation of individual, business, and multi‑entity tax returns for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
- Own tax planning strategy for a portfolio of clients, identifying savings opportunities and flagging risk before it becomes a problem
- Supervise and mentor tax preparers and associates, including technical training and performance feedback
- Serve as the escalation point for complex or unusual tax situations across individual, corporate, and partnership returns
- Monitor federal and state tax law changes and translate them into practical guidance for the team and clients
- Support IRS and state notice resolution and represent the firm in audit‑related matters as needed
- Partner with firm leadership on process improvements that make tax season smoother every year
- 5+ years of tax management or senior review experience — this is not a fit for someone still primarily preparing returns
- Hands‑on experience with individual, corporate, and partnership tax return types
- Active CPA or EA license (or actively sitting for the exam with a clear timeline to licensure)
- Proven experience mentoring or reviewing the work of junior preparers, not just doing the work yourself
- Able to work hybrid out of our Mesa, AZ office (some days in‑office, flexibility for the rest), with extended hours during tax season
- Experience with CCH tax software is a plus, but not required — we’re happy to get the right person up to speed
- Experience with Quick Books
- Prior experience advising clients directly on tax planning, not just preparing returns
- Familiarity with multi‑entity or trust/estate returns
$115,000 – $135,000 per year, based on experience.
